Forever Today

Saturday 13th of December come party with us Deckheads at FOREVER TODAY at Cabana Bar in St Leonards, in Sydney. The thing that really amazes me is the artists that are on display, there is a nice balance of bands such as The Galvatrons, Art Vs Science, One Glove and the Cassette Kids. As well as leading Djs/Producers such as Bag Raiders, Calling in Sick, Trashbag Posse DJs, TableTrash & Josh Flanagan.

The event has outdoor staging, live music, whirlwind visual displays, lighting and effects. I have heard rumors that there will be girls in lingerie in the upstairs room to help the fight of breast cancer in Australia. Tickets will be limited to maintain the intimacy and exclusivity that FOREVER TODAY represents. So run and get your tickets here

So here is just a small blurb about each of the bands that are playing -

I first came across the The Galvatrons when they performed on the Footy Show, even though it seemed most of the meat head fans(no offence if you are a fan, I generalise a lot) that were their did not appreciate their performance, however, I was rocking out in my bedroom. Their electronic rock sound is very much inspired from the wonderful Gary Numan. They have already played at the Big Day Out, and the Hyde Park festivals, as well as a series of other European shows.

The Galvatrons - When We Were Kids(Bag Raiders Remix)

One Glove, are bucking the trend of musical tradition with their self-styled, Epictronica. They are pop songs, they are rock songs, they are dance songs, and they are electronic songs. But above all, they are loud, wide and off the hook. I must admit before writing this I had never heard any of their stuff, but after listing I have fallen in love with their unique style.

One Glove - Radiator

Cassette Kids are the act to watch on the Australian live scene. With their unique sound and encapsulating lead singer, the quartet have been turning heads with their energetic and passionate show. This band is only just breaking into its stride, having already supported the Presets on their Australia wide tour.

Acrobat - Cassette Kids

Art Vs Science have done a lot over the past few months, they have played at Splendour in the Grass and the Sydney Parklife tour, and are in the middle of supporting the Galvatrones on their nationwide tour. Art vs. Science not only makes the sort of music played in nightclubs; it is one of the few outfits in Australia which can actually play in night clubs - live.

Art Vs. Science - Flippers

A blurb now about the DJs that are playing -

Where to begin, Bag Raiders are probably the hottest artist coming out of Australia at the moment, they have just released their follow up EP to Fun Punch, entitled Turbo Love, which has come out with rave reviews. They have a new EP coming out on Fools Gold records, and they have just recently unleashed their new live act. For anybody who has seen them live before, knows just how good they are, and their original and remixes speak for themselves! BTW I fucking love their new track Shooting Stars, its brilliant.

Bag Raiders - Shooting Stars

Bumblebeez - Rio (Oh Bag Raiders in Rio Remix)

The Hump Day Project are one of Deckheads favorite producers! Having already published an interview with them, which skyrocketted through the blogospher. Their remix of Waters of Nazareth made no1 on Hypem.com. Their live act is a mixture of bmore, electro and party tunes, and is sure to keep all the kids out their gurning til the late night hour. They have recently completed a remix of Sweat It Out, which is huge news. Stay tuned for more adventures of these masked cruisaders.

C+C Music Factory - Gonna Make You Sweat (The Hump Day Project Remixxx)

Bloc Party - Banquet (Hump Day Project Eating In Baltimore Remix)

Calling In Sick are one of Australia's new hot shot producers, having already blogged them, any loyal reader will know who they are. If you have happened to see them live before you all know what to expect. Since I last blogged them, they have been working hard as always, and even have a few tracks now on beatport which you can purchase!

Heartache Ft Cujo - What Does It Mean (Calling In Sick Remix)

The DJ/Producer duo that is TableTrash, in a little over a year, have become a household name amongst weekend city-dwellers. Debuting at 70 in the Inthemix top 50/100 in 2007 and being placed at 45 in 2008, the team, comprised of Justin ‘Powers’ Power and Dave ‘Implex’ Murray. Having been producing for a over a year and a half, and a solid series of "TableTrash Round" series, they have built up a strong fan base. Their remix of Show Me Love has stormed the online download charts, and it is the only version of the track that I like.

Mobin Master - Show Me Love (TableTrash No Love Remix)

Other DJs on the night include The Trashbags DJS Afters & Cheap Thrillz, who have been causing mischief for nearly two years now in the Sydney scene, Josh Flanagan who has become a bit of a crowd favorite at Dragonfly & One Love. As well as many more up and coming DJs in the second room!

If this sounds like your cup of tea, come down a celebrate summer with us! Remember get your tickets here, and hopefully ill see you on the day.
In other news stay tuned, in the coming week there will be a giveaway happening on Deckhead, something that Sydneysiders will love!
