Mixed Bag

As new remixes are thrown around the decks, I am increasingly impressed by Austro-German artist Dirty Disco Youth. A few months ago I wrote about his superior version of Rombo and at Field Day I was once again dazed (and as per usual a little confused) during the Boys Noize set. As the opening bars of the new Deadmau5 track Ghosts N Stuff came on I was reminded of it's late appearance in Digitalism's set which I had just been to. Once again, their set was a disappointment so to hear a track that featured so heavily was not the best start to the hightly anticipated evening of German bangers. To my surpirse however, it was not the original, but as one of my friends informed me, the Dirty Disco Youth remix. This mix doesn't overly change the track but beefs up the overall sound with some more layers and a deeper, dirtier bass. It has been around for a while, but perhaps without the recognition it deserves. So listen, learn and love.

Next up is the new track from duo Lies in Disguise, half of which is one of my favourites Le Castle Vania. Nothing new here; this track is good old fashioned punk electro and makes me even more excited for the rumoured Australian appearance later this year (keep some April/May weekends free ).
